Best Places to Watch Fireworks for 4th of July
Let freedom ring! It’s time to celebrate our nation’s birthday and what better way to do that than with a fireworks display? We’re sharing some of our favorite spots to see a good light show below!
Fire on the Water
Head to Oak Mountain State Park for the annual fireworks show! Grab a spot on the beach and enjoy the day in the park as your wait for the show to begin. The event will feature delicious bites from local food trucks, kids’ activities, a DJ, watersports, animals from the Oak Mountain Interpretive Center, libations, a spectacular fireworks show and so much more!
July 3 / $15 per car load / Oak Mountain State Park / 9PM (firework show)
Red White and Brew
Spend your July holiday enjoying Birmingham’s finest mobile eating and business establishments while watching the fireworks at Avondale Brewing Company. Bring friends and family to gather and celebrate at the 2nd Annual Red, White & Brew. The all-ages event will boast live performances from Legal Limit, Bailey Ingle, and the Lamont Landers Band. Children’s’ activities like inflatables and face painting are certain to keep the kiddos busy, and everyone in attendance will have their pick of Birmingham’s very best mobile culinary offerings!

July 4 Festival in Downtown Homewood
Want something to do before Thunder on the Mountain? Downtown Homewood will be filled with rides, inflatables, music, and more. This is a great event for both you and your kids to just have fun together as you await the main event of the day-Thunder on the Mountain. The festivities will end in time for everyone to turn their attention to the Vulcan to view the wonderful spectacle. The festivities will take place on 18th Street South & 29th Ave South. Come celebrate with your friends and family!
July 4 / Downtown Homewood / 5pm-9pm
Thunder on the Mountain
This is a Traditional way to celebrate Independence Day, and one of the most iconic events in Alabama. The 20 minute show is so enormous that no one is allowed in the park during the fireworks show. The show will be choreographed to a musical soundtrack that will feature a mix of patriotic favorites and popular music. The fireworks can be viewed from plenty of other locations surrounding Vulcan Park.
