Vulcan’s 118th Birthday Bash
Attend the biggest birthday party in Birmingham! Grab the entire family, don your party hats, and head to Vulcan Park & Museum for the 118th birthday celebration of Vulcan, the world’s largest cast-iron statue. This year’s festivities include games, food, and fun! Admission is free for Vulcan Park & Museum members, $8 for adults, and $6 for children (ages 5-12), and the celebration runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

S’mores and Pours
Support a great cause at Avondale Brewing Company at the 10th Annual S’mores & Pours fundraiser benefiting BridgeWays. Feel the vibes of a boho-chic wonderland and get your groove on. Highlights include a delicious feast from Taco Mama, silent auction and raffles, pop-up shops from local businesses, local artists showcasing their talent, live music, and selections of Avondale’s finest brews. The event is from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Annual Caribbean Food and Music Festival
Don’t miss out on this joyous, family-friendly celebration of Caribbean American Heritage Month! The annual Caribbean Food and Music Festival takes place at DeBardeleben Park from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eat your fill of jerk chicken, dance to Caribbean music, and enjoy face painting, dancing, and an authentic Caribbean parade. Steel City Smooth Jazz Festival
The Steel City Smooth Jazz Festival returns this summer with two days of jazz and R&B music. Various artists will perform at historic Linn Park in downtown Birmingham, and this year’s line-up features several Grammy award winners and Grammy-nominated artists such as The Isley Brothers and Boney James. The gates open at 3 p.m. Friday, June 17, and at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 18. Tickets begin at $125. steelcityjazzfest.org

Juneteenth Celebration
The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is hosting a Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 18th. This year’s theme is “Backyard Boogie,” a tribute to the many celebrations that have taken place in Magic City backyards throughout the years. Experience The Color of Baseball photography exhibit by Bill Chapman, live musical performances, local author meet-and-greets, and kid-friendly activities. The day-long jubilee begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. and is free to attend.
