2014 Decorators’ ShowHouse
The 2014 Decorators’ ShowHouse opened this weekend in Hoover’s Greystone community at the Mediterranean-styled home of Michael and Michelle D’Ambra.
The 12,000 square-foot home has 6 bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms and four fireplaces. Built in 1994 and remodeled in 2003, the home’s architecture was heavily influenced by the D’Ambra’s four years living in France, where Michael served as CEO of Time Warner’s France Division.

The home has a limestone exterior with a Mediterranean tile roof and a loggia overlooking a 14 ½ acre lake behind a gated entrance. Inside the spacious foyer, Italian tile leads to the dining and living rooms and eat-in
kitchen.
The master bathroom has domed ceilings and marble tile. Venetian plaster covers the walls of the winding staircase to the upstairs bedrooms and loggia overlooking the first floor.
The Decorators’ ShowHouse is the largest fundraiser for the Alabama Symphony Orchestra and features the design talents of local interior decorators and interior designers throughout the first and second floors. The Symphony Shop sells antiques and other gift items on the main level near the Tea Room and Sweet Shoppe that serves lunch and refreshments.
Tickets may be purchased at the home for $20 through Mother’s Day, May 11.
The Decorator’s ShowHouse is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
