3 Reasons We Are Thankful To Be Birmingham Real Estate Agents
Thanksgiving is tomorrow! We can already smell the turkey, sweet potatoes, and pie. It’s one of those days where you can just kick back, indulge in the food you’ve been avoiding, and reunite family.
Thanksgiving is also for something rather important: giving thanks. We know it’s obvious to express thanks around this time, but it’s also important, and heck, all of this positivity in the air has us feeling pretty grateful!
Of course, we are grateful for our family, and health, food on the table, and roofs over our heads, but we are also grateful for our jobs. We love being real estate agents, and not just any real estate agents…Birmingham real estate agents.
Why is being a Birmingham real estate agent something to be thankful for? We’ve got three great reasons.
#1: We Get To Watch Birmingham’s Revival
At one point in time, not too long ago, downtown Birmingham was a pretty barren and dangerous place to be. Abandoned buildings with broken windows and graffiti made up a majority of the scenery. All of this was caused from our historic civil rights struggle and a major industrial collapse. This economic downturn caused the failure of many local businesses, and kept potential new businesses far away. Now, things have taken a turn.
It all seemed to start in 2010, when Railroad Park became the city’s new main attraction. Millions of people began entering the downtown area again, just to visit this stunning park. Soon after Birmingham got a minor league baseball field with Regions field. These two additions ignited something inside the residence in and surrounding Birmingham. They made people feel proud of their city, and encouraged an excitement for it’s revival. Since 2010, tons of local shops, breweries, and restaurants have popped up along the city, and even more is on the horizon.
(There are also loads of fun things to do in Birmingham for the kiddos!)
All of these things have encouraged families to move into neighborhoods closer and closer to the city, increasing the safety in new areas and adding greater value to homes. For the first time in a long time, Birmingham is seeing more people moving in, rather than out. Watching this revitalization, and helping excited residents make their move is incredibly exciting to be a part of. We are so thankful to see our city rise from it’s fall.
#2: We Get To Meet Incredible People
Another great perk about being a Birmingham real estate agent is getting to meet incredible people. Southern hospitality isn’t a made up concept, it’s real. Each and every time we work with a new client we feel so welcomed. Southern people are just plain nice. They listen to you, they appreciate you, and they keep their spirits in a positive place. Smiles go a long way and the South is full of them.
Additionally, each client has a story. Everyone wants something unique, and we grow to understand our clients better as they explain what they are looking for. From large families, to single family homes, every client has taught us something new and valuable, and it’s really humbling to get to have that kind of opportunity.
#3: We Get To See A House Become A Home…All The Time
Last, but not least, we are grateful to help people find a place they can call home. Home IS where the heart is. Home is where we find comfort. It’s where we make memories. It’s where we grow up.
We are selling more than houses! We are selling homes. We are helping beautiful people find beautiful places where they can rest their head at night. We help parents find homes that will better provide for their children. We find newlyweds find homes that will mark the beginnings of their new lives. We seek to find places where empty nesters can feel whole again.
Watching these sales take place is exhilarating. A house becomes a home, and in that transformation, we get to witness the beginning of someone’s new chapter. We get to see their fear and their excitement, their joy and their love. It’s all there, and it’s so powerful. It’s a great reminder of just how exuberant and heartwarming life can be. Selling homes, that’s our job, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. .
