Grab your pup and head to Do Dah Day
Birmingham’s annual pooch parade kicks off on Highland Avenue in Birmingham’s Southside this weekend. After the parade, spend the day with your 4-legged friends at Caldwell Park or Rushton and Rhodes Park, where there will be arts and crafts, kid’s activities, and a lineup of great bands! The best part? The festival is free for attendees! All proceeds benefit local animal charities.

Get ready for tee time at Regions Tradition
Join us on the green for the 2016 PGA Champions Tour. The event includes a Pro-Am tournament on Wednesday, May 18, and a professional tournament on Thursday-Sunday. Keep your eyes peeled for golf legend John Daly, as well as many World Golf Hall of Fame members. To see some talent off the course, make sure you stick around at the end of play on Saturday, May 21, to see a special performance by Taylor Hicks and the WBRC anchors. Children’s of Alabama is the primary charitable beneficiary.

Put on your dancing shoes at Bob Syke’s BBQ & Blues Festival
Head over to DeBardeleben Park in Historic Downtown Bessemer for great food, music, and fun for the entire family! Bring your lawn chair and enjoy live blues music on stage all day and check out the arts and crafts area and kid’s activities. Come hungry and dig into Bob Syke’s BBQ. Trust us- your taste buds will thank you! A portion of the festival proceeds will benefit Clay House Children’s Center.

Handle the heat at Salsa Showdown
Birmingham’s spiciest fundraising competition will keep you coming back for more. Be a judge for the day and determine which local restaurant or catering company offers the best salsa, guacamole, queso, and specialty dip. Admission includes unlimited sampling privileges at each competitor’s station, a ballot for casting an “Audience Choice” vote, Piñata smashes, kids’ activities, live entertainment, beverage vending, and more! Proceeds will benefit Sidewalk Film Festival.
