Spring will be here before we know it and as the weather heats up, Birmingham begins to bustle with events. From festivals to parades and world renowned conferences, there is something for everyone. We’ve created a March Event Guide to Birmingham for all the happenings around town!
Chili Cook-Off
Stop by one of Birmingham’s best events of the year! The Chili Cook-Off is The Exceptional Foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from this event are a significant source of funding for our programs at The Exceptional Foundation where we strive to meet the social and recreational needs of individuals of all ages with special needs. Be sure to come swing by the ARC Realty tent and give our chili a try!

Opera Gala 2019
You won’t want to miss an evening honoring Dr. Julius E. Linn, Jr. at Opera Birmingham. Enjoy cocktails, heavy d’oeuvres, silent and live auctions, a seated dinner and the concert of opera favorites featuring the cast of Tosca. If you haven’t been to Opera Birmingham yet, you’re missing out on the only professional opera company in Northern and Central Alabama.

Schoolhouse Rock

HOLI: A Festival of Color
Join the BMA and the Indian Cultural Society for the 8th annual Holi Festival, the Indian celebration of color. This popular event brings communities together for a fun-filled day celebrating Indian culture and featuring music, dance, food, henna, art-making, and gallery exploration. At the end of the event, guests gather outside for the highlight of the day, the throwing of powdered colors to welcome the spring season.

35th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Wear green, come early and stay late for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade through Five Points South. Grab some lunch, dinner or a drink from any of the participating merchants who will be offering Irish food and drink specials. Live music and entertainment will be available at 11 different venues all day. Make sure to visit the Chick-Fil-A Lucky Zone for kids!

Tour de Brewers
Join the fun on this roughly 11K informal charity event supporting The Dannon Project that combines the “fun” of a fun run with the real fun of tasting great Birmingham local brews. Participants walk, run or cycle through the course to local breweries and finish at the Tin Roof block party.
