How to Celebrate Halloween in Birmingham
Birmingham is consistently offering more and more new and exciting things to do around town, but the holidays get extra special. Are you a Halloween enthusiast? If so, you are in luck! Birmingham is going to get a little spooky!
Let’s take a look at all the frightening fun ahead, brought to you by your friendly real estate agents in Birmingham!
(For more fun in the fall, check out all of Birmingham’s October activities.)
Howls and Growls
On October 30, at Iron City, the Black Jacket Symphony will recreate one of the top most celebrated albums in history: Thriller. This adult-only party is a little pricey at $75, but what you get is worth the money. Go in costume and dance the night away to the incredible sounds of Michael Jackson, and don’t forget to make a stop at the open bar!
BOO Halloween Party
For their 20th Anniversary, the Boo Halloween Party is back at B&A Warehouse October 30th. This event is PACKED with entertainment. You’ll have the M-80s, and DJ MARK AD performing all night, a BOO photo booth with free picks, cash bar, scary-oke karaoke, horror movie lounge, and a chance at a $1,000 cash costume party prize. Additional prizes will be given away including a free t shirt to the first lucky 500 attendees!
What is even better? Proceeds of the Boo Halloween Party benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Alabama.
(Admission is $25 cash at door, must be 21 years or older.)
Underground Film Fest
What is scarier than entering a cemetery on the eve of Halloween? How about laying a blanket down for hours of short films and feature films in that cemetery? On October 30, Oak Hill Cemetery is hosting an evening film festival on their grounds, so-sponsored with Underground FilmFest! Entrance is donation based. Go camp out under the stars, and among the ghosts of Oak Hill Cemetery for a night of European independent films.
Field of Screams
Quite possibly the most exciting festivity to look forward to this Halloween is the Field of Screams. Presented by BAM Entertainment, Region Field, and the surrounding area, will turn into an all day Halloween celebration.
Begin your Halloween at 8am for a 5k Zombie run. After you’ve burned all those calories, go grab yourself some food truck food. Reward yourself further by listening to the live music, playing games, and even riding the carnival rides. Not interested in being around that many kiddos for the day? Don’t worry! The Field of Screams event will also offer two adult parties, with dancing and cash bars. This is a first time event for the Birmingham area, but it’s likely to begin returning annually.
Go, and you will be able to say you were at the very first Field of Screams!
