Thunder on the Mountain

Who doesn’t enjoy the Fourth of July? Thunder on the Mountain is the Vulcan Park and Museum’s big firework celebration. Enjoy a full 20-minute knock-your-socks-off kind of firework show accompanied by musical entertainment. Before the show starts, enjoy the stunning views overlooking our Magic City.
Sloss Music & Arts Festival

Sloss Music and Arts Festival is a 2-day music event at Sloss Furnace National Historic Landmark on July 16-17. There will be three stages of live music with genres from indie and rock, to hip-hop and Americana.
The headliners and biggest names featured at this summer’s SlossFest include Ryan Adams, Death Cab for Cutie, Ray Lamontagne, Grouplove, The Flaming Lips, and Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals.
In addition to the incredible musical acts, there will be beer gardens to taste all the local brews, hands-on iron pouring, and art vendors to browse! Don’t miss out on this annual festival that is quickly becoming one of the most exciting ways to experience Birmingham’s culture!
Art on the Rocks

Art on the Rocks is back and better than ever for its 12th season! The Birmingham Museum of Art’s highly anticipated summer series brings all the best of Birmingham’s vibrant cultural scene together in one dynamic place. Featuring artists, makers, musical guests, and downtown Birmingham businesses, Art on the Rocks presents The Lonely Biscuits for a night of alternative rock straight from Nashville, TN!
Taste of 4th Avenue Jazz Festival

On July 23, at Fourth Avenue Historic District, visit this one-day event that celebrates the rich cultural heritage of jazz in Birmingham. The festival is FREE and offers tons of delicious food trucks and vendors, activities for children, and exceptionally talented live musical performances! You don’t want to miss it!
